    In accordance with the provisions of Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Norfolk County Council HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that owing to emergency tree works the use by vehicles of the C317 Snoring Road from 650m north of its junction with Barsham Road for 250m northwards in the PARISH OF GREAT SNORING will be temporarily prohibited from 2nd to 3rd February 2023 for the duration of the works, expected to be about 2 days within the period.

    This Notice has a maximum duration of 21 days. Where exceptional circumstances are encountered during the performance of the works specified in this Notice, the operational period of this Notice may become extended by issuing an Order or further Notice to allow completion of the works for a maximum duration of 18 months.

    Alternative route is via: Walsingham Road, Snoring Road, Holt Road, Knight Street, The Street, Barsham Road, Fakenham Road, Ford Road, High Street, Common Place (Barsham, Walsingham, Great Snoring).

    Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.

  • Speed Awareness Messaging Report Autumn 2022

    The SAM2 unit was Kettlestone Road from September to November 2022 monitoring traffic speed and the volume of vehicles travelling towards the school.

    From 12 September 2022 to 28 November 2022

    • 8,835 vehicles were recorded with an average of 305 per day.
    • The peak times of travel are 8 am to 9 am (average of 35 vehicles); and 3 pm to 4 pm (average of 31 vehicles)
    • The maximum speed was 70 mph at 8:10 am on 27 September, (although the average speeder was travelling 23 mph).
    • The majority of vehicles were travelling below the speed limit which is 30 mph. The 85th percentile speed (i.e. of 7,510 vehicles) was 29.6 mph; and the average speed was 23 mph.

    The Coastal Community Supermarket in the Community Room, The Playing Field, Stevens Road (off Kettlestone Road) NR21 0GZ

    on most Tuesday afternoons: 1 pm – 3 pm (but not on the fourth Tuesday of the month).

    There will also be a ‘chatty cafe’ so you can have a sit down and chat.

  • Temporary Road Closure Snoring Road, Walsingham

    NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL proposes to make a Temporary Traffic Order affecting the C317 Snoring Road from its junction with Scarborough Road to its junction with Thursford Road in the PARISH OF WALSINGHAM because of tree works.

    The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) from 7th to 11th November 2022 for the duration of the works expected to be about 5 days within the period.

    Alternative route is via: C317 Snoring Road/ Walsingham Road, C478 Barsham Road/ Water Lane, C586 Fakenham Road/ High Street, C597 Common Place/ Holt Road (Barsham, Walsingham, Great Snoring).

    (If necessary, the restriction could run for a maximum period of 18 months from the date of the Order).

    Penalty: £1000 maximum fine on conviction and/or endorsement for contravention.

    In the event of the start date being delayed the new start date will be displayed on site in advance.
